Words of Wisdom for Yankee-land
According to one of my students, you can’t request “bag help” in a Yankee grocery store the way you would in the South. We would say, “Can you get some bag help?” or “Do you have a bag boy?” Apparently, in northern climes, you must say, “Have you no baggers?”
This makes me laugh.
